DEFproject is our original flute choir (aka flute orchestra) that started it all in 2016. Led by our Artistic Director Christina Steffen, DEFproject has become a nationally recognized flute choir that has been invited to perform at the National Flute Association Conventions, The San Francisco International Flute Festival, the renowned Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix, and the International Low Flutes Festival. Our members include professional flutists, music educators, college students, and community musicians from the Phoenix metropolitan area.
How do I join? DEFproject members are chosen through an audition process. To begin, simply email us using the form below to let us know you're interested an we'll send over your audition packet to kick off the process.
Defproject
The DEF Chamber Choir is our smallest group, made up of 6-11 flutists chosen from the larger DEFproject group. This intimate ensemble plays true chamber music, meaning they perform without a conductor. In addition to playing challenging pieces at our five yearly concerts, they have also been invited to perform at other local venues such as the MIM in Phoenix, Taliesin West in Scottsdale, and at the National Flute Association Convention.
How do I join? Members are chosen via an apllication and audition process after they have been accepted into DEFproject. Once you are a DEFproject member, please contact Christina Steffen for more information and instructions.
CHamber Choir

The DEF Community Flute Choir was established in 2016 to bring together flutists of all levels, from high school through professional, in a collaborative environment. When we say we're a flute family, it's really true! We have so much fun practicing and performing together... and forming life-long friendships.
How do I join? The Community Flute choir is open to older high school students and adults without an audition. To get started, simply email us using the link below and we'll send over instructions to get you started. We can't wait to play together soon!
